News:
Brice’s Recruiting speculates on the possibility of A.J. Jordan committing to Michigan.
Mick McCabe ranked Shawn Conway 17th in the state and says he will:
“Look for a breakout year. He is a superior athlete and a standout in basketball. He wowed coaches with his efforts at combines. He is a big receiver who can go up in a crowd and come down with the ball. His size is highlighted by sprinter speed.”
Thunder, Touch The Banner, speculates on the impact of Troy Woolfolk’s injury on recruiting.
QB Cardale Jones recently received an offer from LSU.
I committed to Stanford. Not really, but I did laugh when I saw someone with my namesake did.

We recently found out that coach Rod and staff had narrowed their recruiting search down to around 70 prospects. Here are my probably way off guesses on who those kids are, and why I think they made the cut. Some of them I know are right and some are pure speculation on my part. I will list them position by position. And of course recruiting is so fluid that this list can change by the second. Oh yeah, there are a few wild cards at the bottom who could earn offers with a good camp showing.
QUARTERBACKS – (3) Looking for 1? RR has stated that he would like to take a QB in each class.
1. Cardale Jones. Will probably end up at OSU. But who knows? Visited UM and seemed to like it.
2. Marquise Williams. Is deciding on the 26th between UM, Va Tech and UNC with the Hokies and Tar heels having the advantage.
3. Brett Hundley. Pretty open to the process. Stud.
RUNNING BACKS - (7) Looking for 1?
1. Dee Hart. This one is pretty obvious. UM has been recruiting him for quite a while now and IMO has always been #1 in his heart. He was going to be an early commit, but it seems he will now wait until fall or later to make his choice.
2. Justice Hayes. An instate kid who is highly ranked by all services. He seems to like UM, but seems to be pretty open at this point.
3. Savon Huggins. An absolute stud RB. He has visited a ton of schools so far, and I would imagine the staff will continue perusing him for a visit to AA.
4. Andrew Buie. A quick kid from Florida.
5. Malcolm Crockett. Has listed UM in his top 3 in the past.
6. Jarrell Oliver. Has visited AA a few times already. Would the staff take a commit from him at this time? I think he is more of a back burner kid at this point. (Verballed to Utah.)
7. Redmound Wright. Likes UM. Great stats last year. (Verballed to Stanford.)
WIDE RECEIVER – (7) Verbal: Shawn Conway. Looking for 1 more. First come, first serve?

Michigan Football 2011 Recruiting Board
New Profiles Added Over The Last Week:
New Offers Total = 162:
Jack Miller (OL) – Is being recruited by most schools as a Defensive Lineman, but Michigan would need him on offense. Recently told MGoBlog’s TomVH, “I have the offers I want, so it's time to decide. I'm really going to thin it out this week, and I'll hopefully have the decision made by the end of the week.”
Paul Gaughan (OL) – In addition to being offered by the Wolverines, Gaughan has received offers from Wisconsin, Stanford & Illinois.
James Elliott (OL) – His recruitment has been picking up as of late, with offers coming from Texas Tech & Michigan. Early on he stated that Louisville was a leader, right now who knows?
Jerrell Adams (TE) – Late offer at this time appears to do little in the recruitment of Adams who is high on the Gamecocks of South Carolina.
Dexter Staley (OLB) – Scout rates him as a 4-star and he currently also holds offers from Florida,
Michigan State, South Carolina & LSU. He currently had South Carolina and Florida as his leaders, we’ll see if Michigan can make up any ground on this athlete that could play inside or outside linebacker as well as safety.
News:
Ryan Autullo, Toledo Blade, recently got a quote from Rivals.com’s Jeremy Crabtree on the difficulty of recruiting a smaller class: “With them having smaller numbers, you have to identify the kids that you think can really help your program and make sure you don't have too many misses in a small class. The margin of error is definitely smaller than when you sign a class of 25.”
Rising/Falling:
Dallas Crawford said of Miami (FL): “They're right there for number one basically, I don't really have a number one but they're right there at the top.”

2010 Depth Chart
2011 Offers (Ranked using Scout.com’s Current Rankings – 3/25)
1. Braxton Miller - Huber Heights, OH - Expected to be a Buckeye but is more open then many think
2. Christian Lemay - Matthews, NC - Expected to be a Gator, if not he'll stay south
3. Kiehl Frazier - Springdale, AR - Likely to stay in the south at either Arkansas or Tulsa
4. Marquise Williams - Charlotte, NC - Clemson and Miami (FL) are the leaders at this point
5. Cardale Jones - Cleveland, OH - A Glenville it is hard to think he'll be blue but a recent visit to AA could spark serious interest
With five offers out to quarterbacks Michigan is not making this a big position of need. The staff is comfortable with a nice group of young quarterbacks competing and a star in the making in Devin Gardner. If the Wolverines land a quarterback it'll either be an elite player or one who could play different positions (similar to the Gardner/Jones duo coming in this summer/fall). The two Ohio quarterbacks Braxton Miller and Cardale Jones are the two most likely to end up Wolverines. The staff does have many obstacles to overcome before this happening however time will tell.
Here are five other quarterbacks in the 2011 class who have yet to be offered by the Wolverines but may earn their offers in the future:

This past week Rich Rodriguez offered two Class of 2011 Glenville High School players scholarships, QB Cardale Jones (Video Highlights) & OL Aundrey Walker (Video Highlights). Some have scoffed at the action, saying it is pointless to even offer Glenville kids because of the High School Coach Ted Ginn Sr.’s connection to Ohio State. I vehemently have to disagree with this sentiment. Why? Because all it takes is one player to make a difference. One visit by a prospect that sways him to Michigan, or even landing a player from the area that Jim Tressel decides isn’t a fit for the Buckeye program. This wouldn’t necessarily mean the player isn’t capable of playing at Ohio State, just not a good fit. Example being a post I read by a Notre Dame fan that claimed they only offered one prospect in U of M’s entire 27-man class. Michigan is noticeably recruiting different athletes than their peers in the Midwest.
Take Cardale Jones for example:
