QUOTES
On Playing at Brewster Academy: “Basketball wise, it’s like playing at a whole new level. We have a lot of guys on that team that are going Division I when they go to college. Getting to body up against guys like Markus Kennedy who’s going to Villanova, and then I’d get out on the wing and matchup against guys like Jakarr Sampson who went to LeBron’s high school in Ohio, it just made me a better player and it made me work even harder to earn my spot.”
ANALYSIS
Scout.com: “A post player with a solid skill level, McGary has really come along since re-classifying from 2011 to 2012. He can score inside and out with a strong face up game along with the ability to drive to the basket. McGary plays mostly below the rim, and isn’t a great shot blocker.”
Scouts Inc., ESPN.com: “McGary is a physically imposing presence in the paint with good size, tremendous upper body strength, and limitless energy and physicality. He is proactive seeking out contact inside, a consistent finisher, and high volume two way rebounder. He is incredibly active with a terrific motor and great toughness. The lefty is skilled enough to stretch the defense to 18 feet, has the dexterity to dunk with both hands in congestion, and sets big screens both on and off the ball. He runs well in straight lines and has pretty soft hands around the basket. A tremendous physical presence in the paint with a great motor and infectious energy and toughness, McGary will be a highly sought after post prospect in the class of 2012.”
