ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg broke down Michigan’s key stretch of games, Michigan State – Iowa – Penn State:
The Wolverines have the personnel to attack Michigan State's defense, but can they stop Kirk Cousins and the Spartans' numerous weapons? Iowa could be a top-10 team when it visits Ann Arbor, and Michigan will need a polished performance to pull off the upset. The Wolverines were one of few teams to run the ball well against Iowa, and Denard Robinson could be a big weapon in this one. After a well-placed bye week, the stretch concludes with a prime-time clash at Penn State, where Joe Paterno could be going for win No. 400. Michigan gets a big chance to show its improvement on a national stage.

Tyrone Wheatley recently said in an interview with MLive.com:
Sometimes, as a human being, you have to know your limitations. I've played in the Big House, and I know what it would take to run a program in the Big House. That is too much of a monster for me.
Rivalry Esq. breaks down Tate Forcier’s mechanics and rates him as a C-. Wolverine Liberation Army’s ChiTownBlue has an interesting post called, “The All-Woulda/Coulda/Shoulda Team – Offense,” trust me its worth 3 minutes of your time.

NHL DRAFT INTERVIEW:
DEVILS ROOKIE PROSPECT INTERVIEW:
QUOTES:
On beating Russia in the U-18 Gold Medal Game: “I thought it was going to be 2-1 or something like that. But, after we got up in that first period, we just wanted to make sure we kept going and didn't let up because that's what happened in that pool-play game. The penalties in that game were outrageous, like 13-2, and they had a penalty shot. One of our kids got hit at the end of that game, so we all just jumped out. ... It's funny, that was our very first tournament, and now we've ended our last year at worlds actually beating them in the finals.”
Merrill on Himself: “I’m a simple, steady, stay-at-home defenseman. I want to play mistake-free, never-get-beat hockey”

New Commitments:
Kevin Sousa (QB) – In an interview with UMGoBlog.com, Sousa said, “To know that my first ever game as a Wolverine will be during their first ever night game, on prime-time, vs. Notre Dame with 110K plus gave me chills. It was just an amazing sight.” Go Blue!
Jack Miller (OL) – Defensive Lineman in High School, offered to be an interior offensive lineman at U of M and jumped all over it.
New Profiles Added Over The Last Week:
New Offers (Total = 165):
Chris Bryant (OL) – Chicago lineman put forth an impressive display at camps last week to earn an offer. Brice breaks down his game, “A athletic lineman, that moves well for a guy his size. His strength is impressive by how he will stop the defender right in their tracks and has good footwork. Lastly, he is also a very intelligent player on and off the field.”

A Foot In The Crease Interview w/Alex Guptill

On getting ranked as a Top Prospect heading into NHL Draft: “Just getting ranked was quite a little feat considering I had only played 13 games up to that point... All you can do is play your best and hope what they see, they like.”
Breaking down his game: “I’m a offensive player with a lot of speed. Everything I do comes off my speed, like my chances. My still is like Zach Parise’s speed and skill game.”
Biggest strength & weakness: “My biggest strength is my hockey sense and speed, probably put together. My weakness is my strength, I definitely need to get bigger and stronger up top and on the legs.”
How did he end up committing to the Wolverines: “Michigan was the school I visited during Miniature-Bantom Years. I was there when Jack Johnson and Andrew Cogliano were there, and everyone thought those guys were unbelievable. You never dream you could ever play there. I never realized the opportunity to get scholarships. Right after the NCAA prospect games. Thats when I first started talking to schools. Then you kind of realize all of the excellent opportunities they offer. Unbelievable program like Michigan. It was something pretty hard to pass up.”
OHL vs. NCAA: “I was dead-set on the OHL coming out of Minor-Midget. That is because I had friends that went that route and didn’t get university degrees… The university experience is a really important part of growing up.”
NHL Draft Update:
Alex Guptill was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 3rd Round of the NHL Draft. Stars’ Blog Defending Big D broke down the pick:
“The Stars traded down a bit, originally having the 71st pick but trading it to Colorado for the 77th and 109th picks in the draft. Chances are the Stars still got the guy they wanted with 77 and got the bonus of an extra pick. As for Alex truth be told he's a bit of an unknown as the Stars go to the second teir of junior hockey to find a potential diamond in the rough. A versatile and big forward who can play all three forward positions but is maybe best at left wing. He is set to join the Brampton Battalion of the OHL next year.”
