- Name: Ben Braden
- Position: Offensive Tackle
- Height & Weight: 6’6” 280 lbs.
- High School: Rockford Rams (MI)
Allen Trieu, Scout.com: “I think he’s a right tackle, but I could also see guard. He definitely fits the new Michigan style of offense very well, although the old staff liked him a lot too. We’ll have to see him as a senior to see further development, but he was moving along very quickly for a kid who was just picking up the position. He is very well coached at Rockford, which certainly contributed to that … A kid who has really grown into his body and now has the type of body that could allow him to play early in college. Moves well at that size, showing surprising athleticism for a bigger kid. Naturally strong and a good drive blocker, he has improved as a pass blocker, but is still working on his technique. A coachable kid who seems to pick up on things quickly though.”
Scouts Inc., ESPN.com: “Braden is a tough aggressive blocker with the playing strength to dominate opponents at his present level of competition. Has the size along with enough athleticism for the offensive tackle position at the major level of competition. His frame appears capable of handling additional body mass … This guy brings the tough mental attitude to the field we look for when evaluating offensive linemen. Braden does not appear to be an immediate starter, rather a prospect who might need some time to work on pass protection skills.”
