Goalie Store2 On playing for Team USA: "It was a great experience. There were people who had worked seven hours a day to help out, the Red Cross workers. We saw some of them at our games, too. It was just great that we could give them back something after they gave us support."

Biggest Hockey Accomplishment: “I feel my biggest hockey accomplishment has been getting the opportunity to play Midget Major for HoneyBaked. Playing a level up makes me a better goalie each and every time I am on the ice. I am thankful HoneyBaked has put me in this situation that not many goaltenders have been able to have.”

Benefits of having a Goalie Coach: “I feel having a goalie coach is crucial for a goalie at all ages. When you areUSA Hockey 4 young you need a goalie coach to teach you the fundamentals of goaltending. As you get older, you think you are doing things better than you really are and you need a goalie coach to point out the little details that you would not catch. The last reason I feel having a goalie coach is vital for any goalie is that when he is out there for your practices, it just motivates you to get out of your comfort zone and focus on each shot.”

On coming to Michigan: “For all my friends and family… to be able to come to a Michigan game means a lot to me. I’m excited to play for Michigan and hopefully win a few National championships along the way. I’ve been going to Yost Ice Arena since I was a little kid and it’s just an unbelievable atmosphere and I can’t wait to play my first game.”

ANALYSIS

Goalie Store WCHBlog: “He’s incredibly talented. A lot can change for goalies between the ages of 16 and 20, so nothing is a guarantee, but he certainly looks like a gem. I have no clue where he rates for the 2010 draft, since it’s still way too early to evaluate goalies much.’”

Goalie Coach Stan Matwijiw: “Jack Campbell is the most driven, hardest-working determined kid I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I’ve never seen anything like it. He has more passion for the game at his age than any kid I’ve had. It’s such a delight. Technically, he’s very sound. But on top of that, he’s a heck of an athlete. He competes so hard. He never quits. What I mean by that is that Jack Campbell is never out of a play. He will battle until that puck crosses the goal-line, if it ever crosses the goal-line. He’ll come up with some saves he has no business making just because he’s athletic enough and he competes and will not accept getting beat on a goal. It’s quite exciting to watch. On top of that, he’s a phenomenal puck handler.”USA Hockey

The Program, Blog, on Ranking Campbell 10th best prospect for next yr.’s NHL Draft: “Campbell is the best available goaltender. He led the Americans to the Gold Medal at the Under-18 Championships in April where he had a .75 goals-against-average and a .967 save percentage in five contests. He posted a 2.17 goals against-average and a .916 save percentage with the Under-17 team in 28 games. With the Under-18 team, he posted a 1.71 gaa and a .940 save percentage.”
