INTERVIEW
QUOTES
How he committed: “I really love the Beilein family. He is a family oriented guy, and when he took me to his house to have dinner with his family I told him (that I wanted to commit). His wife and kids were there, and the
whole team was there too. After dinner he brought me aside and asked me how I felt. I told him I was coming to Michigan. He was really excited and he just stood up and shook my hand.”
On his Second Visit to U of M: “Well, I was with the team a lot more. I was with Stu (Douglass) a lot, Kelvin (Grady), Anthony Wright, I was with a lot of players on the team. I went out with them at night. I hung out with Zack Novak, I was with him a lot. We hung out in his dorm and stuff. I was with the team a lot more and just got a feel for it. I liked them a lot. I liked hanging out with Zack, I like Coach Beilein a lot, and I think I fit in well."
On his family: "We’re a Big 10 family. My mom went to Wisconsin, my dad went to Illinois, and now I’m going to Michigan."
What he needs to work on: "Coach Beilein texted me, ‘work hard in the weight room’. I know I need to get a lot stronger, and I know I need to put on more muscle. I’m trying to live in the weight room right now."
Impact of Stu Douglass and Zach Novak’s Teachings: "They have been great in helping me out. Coach Beilein’s offense is pretty tough to grasp for a freshman, but they’ve been showing me how he wants things done. "
ANALYSIS
Scouts, Inc.: “Vogrich as a prolific shooter who will stretch defenses in the Big 10. Matt is a sharp shooting two guard who is not afraid to take and make big shots. He possesses range well beyond the three point line and will force Big 10 defenses to come out and guard him. Vogrich also has tremendous court vision and passing skills.. Excellent spacing, ball movement, player movement, and basket cuts are the basics of the Michigan offense. This is perfect for Matt. He has a good basketball I.Q. and understands the game. Look for him to be an immediate threat on the perimeter.”
Mike DeCourcy, Sporting News: “Considering the Wolverines shot 33 percent from 3-point range in an offense that emphasizes long-range shooting, they did well to reach the NCAA Tournament second round. But they need a natural shooter. Although Rivals.com rates Vogrich No. 137, he could be the purest marksman in the class. Miami (Ohio) and Saint Louis were after him in April of his junior year, but his long-distance shooting quickly attracted attention from Stanford, Notre Dame and UCLA.”
Steve Pratt, Full Package (AAU Team): "The great thing about Matt Vogrich is that he’s an unbelievable teammate. He gets it. He’s the kind of kid you want to play with. As a player, he’s a combo guard. He always steps to the challenge. The more he’s challenged, the better he plays. He can hit 10 3-pointers in a game, and he can take it right down the lane and dunk on your head."

Scout: Lists his strengths as three point shooting and Perimeter shot. Weaknesses listed are ball handling and strength.
Daniel Poneman, Illinois HS Basketball: “A very savvy offensive player with an arsenal of moves, he is great at drawing contact with pump fakes and other moves and is money from the free throw line. On defense he is a hustler in every sense of the word, and he uses his long arms and athleticism to clog passing lanes and pick ball handler’s pockets. Vogrich is also a good rebounder for a kid his size.”
UM Hoops: “At 6-foot-4 Vogrich will add another weapon to Michigan’s offense. He seems to have more penetrating ability than last year’s freshmen and can still stroke it. The biggest issue is that Matt is very skinny and will have to work on getting into Big Ten shape. There is also a lot of depth at the 2-guard: Douglass, LLP, and Novak can all play the two but I think we could see a little of Stu at the point as well Novak backing up the three.”

Although I would’ve preferred if you went into a little bit more detail, I still got the gist of what you meant. I agree with it. It might not be a popular idea, but it makes sense. Will definitely come back for more of this. Great work
Completely understand what your stance in this matter. Although I would disagree on some of the finer details, I think you did an awesome job explaining it. Sure beats having to research it on my own. Thanks
Keep working ,great job!
