Moffatt scoring 5 goals in a Compuware Game:
QUOTES:
How he committed to play for Red Berenson: "I stood up, popped my sweatshirt off to show him a maize and blue Michigan hockey shirt and said: ‘Coach, I’m ready now. His face really lit up. I don’t think he was expecting it at all."
On the transition from Arizona the US National Team Development Program: "It was really kind of shocking because the Midwest league is known as one of the best in the country. I’m kind of like a nobody underdog coming in, and it
was fun showing everybody that Phoenix kids can skate. This year I’m twice as pumped because I’m playing for my country with the top players in the country.”
On going to U of M: “Michigan was never really one of my top picks. They recruited me a little bit. I decided to come and visit. After the visit, just everything was absolutely great. I visited other schools, but after the Michigan visit it seemed like other schools didn’t compare. It just feels right…. It’s 99 percent of hockey players’ dreams, I believe, to play college hockey. I don’t want to miss out on the whole college experience. It’s a key part of everyone’s life.”
On playing in Arizona: “In Phoenix I’d be playing and would be one of the better kids. But I knew there were kids out here in Michigan and in Minnesota that were really good. I kept slowly and surely playing the top players. I found out my last Bantam year I could compete with anyone. I competed with some of the best players on the west coast.”
On Playing for Team USA: “It’s widely known in America that The Program is the best place to develop. Playing every day, lifting (weights) every day, representing your country; what more could you ask for?”
ANALYSIS:
WCH Blog: “I go back and forth on Moffatt all the time. I think his style of play is more suited for faster, tighter
checking games like the NCAA and pro level. He’s not much of a dangler, which makes him look unimpressive against less-polished competition, but he’s very strong on the puck and can make quick decisions, which will serve him well later on. He’s not off to a great start this year with the NTDP, but a lot of great players struggled until about Christmastime in their first year at the NTDP, and then really took off. It’s tough to tell where he’ll end up in the 2010 draft. It could be really high or really low. He’d be the biggest concern about never making it to Michigan. I’d say the chances of him wearing a Michigan jersey are about 50/50.”
Regan Bartel: “This kid is a game breaker.”
USNTDP Head Coach John Hynes: “He’s very high-energy. He does a very good job attacking the puck on defense and when he gets the puck, he’s very strong on his skates. Very conscientious, very responsible with his school work, very dedicated. He really cares about hockey.”
The Scouting News: “(Moffatt) reminded scouts of a young Daniel Briere.”

Hiya, nice day.. Your article is extremely impressive. I never considered that it was feasible to accomplish something like that until after I looked over your post. You certainly gave a great perception on exactly how this whole process works. I will make sure to return for more advice. Thanks
