HIGHLIGHTS
ANALYSIS
Jon Jennings, UMGoBlog.com: “Solidly built kid for only going into his junior year. Maclean is a rare athlete who can play anywhere in the front seven and be successful. Lined up at linebacker, defensive end and defensive tackle for Grand Blanc. Maclean does a great job of getting off blocks and keeping his outside arm free. At the point of contact he is very strong and does a great job in pursuit. He could become better at reading his keys however that will come over time. Maclean will look to be a top 10 instate player with the potential to be a top 5 instate kid. Will likely be a 3 star kid with definite potential as a 4 star prospect.”
Allen Treiu, Scout.com: “Maclean has made a name for himself this off-season and I went back and looked at the tape and he should have been getting more attention during the year. At 6’3, 240-lbs, he played middle linebacker, defensive end, outside linebacker, whatever was asked of him. Obviously, with two years to go, I expect him to continue grow and ultimately be a defensive end, but he’s aggressive, strong and a great blitzer.”
