Man vs. Machine: OSU Game Prediction

by Lance Callihan 19. November 2009 13:10

As part of the feature, Man vs. Machine, Todd Male, tests his knowledge of football and the University of Michigan by predicting the outcome of the games against EA Sports NCAA Football 2010 (PS3).  So far they’re tied up 5 to 5.  Here is his Week Twelve Prediction:T. Pryor

In all my years of following the Maize and Blue, I can't recall a time I've been more frustrated. I see progress on the offensive side of the ball, and glimpses of talent on defense. Unfortunately the depth and overall talent just isn't there. Up until this past Saturday's debacle, I felt good about years to come. 90% of the time when we got beat, it was mostly a case of blown coverage, poor assignment football, and merely a lack of experience.

This past weekend was an all out whoopin. When you put 8 or 9 people in the box, knowing exactly what is going to be run, you have to stop people. They didn't even slow down the Badgers.

This leads us up to the battle with the Buckeyes. Sure, Clay and Toon are better than anything the Buckeyes can put out on the field at RB and WR, and the Buckeye offensive line, lead by Benedict Boren himself, has been much maligned most of the season. But barring a turnover laden game by tOSU or a letdown because they have the B10 locked up, there aren't any scenarios I can come up with where Michigan can stay in this game.

The statement “You can throw out records when these two meet every November,” obviously was coined prior to seeing this Michigan defense. As much as I want to predict a monumental upset, I just can't. Michigan will likely do better on offense than many will think in my opinion. But hardly enough to make up for deficiencies on defense. – Ohio State 47 Michigan 27
