HIGHLIGHTS

QUOTES

On choosing Michigan: “One morning a couple days ago I woke up and it just felt like Michigan was the right spot Scout IIfor me. I sat on it for a couple hours and it was still on my mind, so I decided to make it official.”

On how Rich Rodriguez’s Offense uses Running Backs: “I feel like they utilize the running back in more versatile ways. That’s the way I am, I don’t just do one thing. I feel like that would help showcase what I do, with running the ball and being able to catch it.”

On playing in-state: “There's always an attraction (to stay in-state). My brothers go to State. It's all close to home, that's nice. But something my brothers always tell me and my family always tells me is, 'Don't make a decision because of us. Make a decision for yourself.' Ultimately, it's where I live for four years and where I feel comfortable. Maybe it's close to home, but it's not the right fit. That's why I want to go out and feel these places out myself and make the decision then.”

Scout IVANALYSIS

Scout: “An explosive back who can be used in a variety of roles. Has great feet and change of direction ability and makes many people miss in the open field. When he finds a crease, burst and acceleration are good and has breakaway capabilities. Is a fine receiver out of the backfield and has experience playing slot and split. Must continue to add size and strength, as power running needs to be improved. Shows willingness and aggressiveness as a blocker.”

Scouts, Inc: “White is a productive, well-rounded back with good upside when projecting for the next level.. Hits the hole fast but blends good patience with very good feet, lateral quicks 2010and vision that allows him to pick and slide his way through traffic.. However, he is not a burner with a great second gear or overly explosive. For a bigger high school back he goes down frequently on first contact and legs  can go dead when wrapped up.. That said, those weaker areas of White's game should be improved once he enters a fulltime college weight-training program. Has great receiving skills and could eventually develop into the complete package at the next level if he can add the bulk and power to carry the load.”

Varsity Blue: “(He) may not be coming in strictly as a running back, however. This summer, he played in the defensive backfield in 7-on-7 competitions, where he reportedly impressed. If he doesn’t foresee immediate playing time on offense, he may opt to try his hand on the other side of the ball.”
