Athlon Sports gives the pros and cons of new coach Ron English.  The pro’s amount to his defensive resume and his familiarity with the program due to spending five years coaching at Michigan.  Only one con is listed and that is his laid-back coaching style.

Iowa Football Blog Black Heart Gold Pants defends QB Ricky Stanzi against Dr. Saturday’s allegations that he is but a mere mortal QB.  Dr. Saturday puts Stanzi in the “viable” (second tier) of Big Ten QB’s and this is unacceptable to Black Heart Gold Pants.  Mind that a few months ago Dr. Saturday shredded an anonymous coach that compared Stanzi to Tom Brady.clip_image006

Upon reviewing the Hornets’ returning starters I found that none of Delaware State’s top three rushers from last season will be returning.  So I can say with confidence that the Hornets’ running game lacks experience.

Wide Receiver Levi Norwood, younger brother of Jordan Norwood, has committed to play football with the Nittany Lions in 2010 reports the Penn State Blog Black Shoe Diaries. Illinois Blog Illinitalk writes about the loss of former OC Mike Locksley and the incoming OC Mike Schultz.  Schultz helped the TCU Horned Frogs set many single-season offensive records last year. Let’s just hope it take him awhile to mesh with Juice and Benn!clip_image010

In this Boiled Sports blog post, they argue with Northern Illinois blog Red And Black Attack on whether or not they should take the Huskies seriously…… Seriously, I mean really?…

Even acknowledging a MAC school would be like UMGoBlog putting Michigan State on equal footing with Michigan, yeah I went there.clip_image012

The Wisconsin Badger Sports blogger is not very happy that the team’s lottery system for its tickets has left him out in the cold this year.clip_image013

2010 Indiana 4-Star RB Roderick Smith is the seventh addition to the Buckeyes class.

And now those not on the schedule this year:clip_image014

The NY Times College Football Blog: The Quad gives a very lengthy preview and prediction on the Gopher’s ‘09 season.  The preview basically amounts to say that last year the Gophers had a easy schedule and will go 3-5 in the Big Ten; 6-6 Overall.clip_image015

Ahh Northwestern.  For this week I choose to link to NU writer Daniel Hamburg’s prediction that U of M will go 5-7 this year.
