QUOTES

Christian on himself: “I can jump and have good quickness. I have good movement and am smooth and have a great back peddle.”

What he needs to work on: “I want to improve my speed. That’s the main thing and I also want to make more of an impact when I hit. I need to be more physical when I tackle.”

On Michigan: “I had a great visit. I saw everything I needed to see. That’s where I want to start my next chapter of life … I like the big time corners they’ve produced. They always have a great defense and that’s one of the school that I’ve always loved. I just love the Blue and Maize. I really like that they are showing me the most love. I Post-Gazettewant to go where I feel that I’m wanted and needed and I get that feeling from Michigan. Plus, I know the coaches would get me in good shape to go to the next level.”

On moving to FS this season: “It's OK I don't like it better than corner. I love corner. You can show your athletic ability more at corner.”

On his leader (8/21): “Michigan is No. 1, but I probably won't make my decision until sometime during the season. I don't know how close I am to pulling the trigger.”

On his remaining visits (10/28): “Distance will not be a factor for me at all. UCLA is definitely in the mix for me and I would put them in my top three along with Michigan and West Virginia. I still have three visits to take over the next three weeks and I'm going to Pitt, Ohio State and Michigan.”

ANALYSIS

Scouts, Inc.: “The only asset Christian is missing is great speed. He has coveted size, quickness, fluidity and savvy as a D-I corner prospect. Utilizes his long arms and frame well jamming and pressing receivers off the line. Consistently forces receivers to the outside in zone, Cover 2 schemes and takes away inside leverage when locked up in press-man.. Our main concern is his ability to stick with faster, more explosive receivers tightly out of their breaks at the next level. He lacks great burst out of cuts and we question his makeup-speed at the next level. That said, Christian will enter college ahead of the curve in terms of technique, understanding of coverages and size. Should flourish in a fulltime college weight training program with work on improving his explosiveness.”

Mike Farrell, Rivals: “He's not a burner but he can turn and run, has nice hips and is physical. His size allows him to match up well with big receivers and he gets his head around to play the ball.”

Lance Callihan, UMGoBlog: He likes to jam receivers off the line and rely on his speed and god-given talents. Has the skill and mind-set to play with a safety over-head, possibly a cover two scheme.

Scout.com: “Christian is a nice sized cover corner who gets better with every rep and only lacks experience at the position. He has the ability to a true lockdown corner.”
