Here are the two greatest games in this historic rivalry. 1994 and 2006. In 1994, the game was a battle to the
very last play with Tshimanga Biakautuka, Todd Collins and Amani Toomer leading the Wolverines to a 26-24 victory on the right leg of Remy Hamilton, who nailed a 42 yard FG with :02 left. The 2006 game matched the #2 Ranked Fighting Irish against the #10 Ranked Wolverines and quickly turned into a laugher as Mario Manningham caught three touchdowns in the first half as Michigan routed Notre Dame 47-21.
Why is there two games tied for the first slot? I didn’t want to overlook the great game in 1994 with the 2006 affair that is fresher in my mind ESPN-style. Both these games truly deserve number one status.
