Here are a few tibits from Rich Rodriguez’s Press Conference at today’s Big Ten Media Day courtesy of the Michigan Daily and Free Press:

On Last Season: “The team has a lot of work to do and that they don’t want to talk about last season, but that they have grown from it and they know what they have to do to fix it.”RichRod

On Defenses catching up with the Spread: “He isn’t worried about defenses catching up with the spread because he thinks that if they execute they win, and if they don’t they lose.”

On Tate Forcier: “He said that Tate Forcier is not a lock to be the starting quarterback, and that he gets nervous starting a true freshman but he is confident the coaches and Tate will put in the work be ready for the season.”

On the Big Ten: “He thinks that a few bowl victories could change the perception of the Big Ten as a weaker conference.”

On the 2010 Opener: “He said U-M is close to signing an opening opponent for 2010. He said it's a BCS school for a home-and-home series.”

On Fitzgerald Toussaint: “Incoming freshman Fitzgerald Toussaint had a minor procedure done in the offseason, but should be ready for camp.”

On a Bowl Game this season: "If we're not in a bowl game, we're all going to be ticked."
