What he’s looking for in a school: “First, obviously, you're there for four or five years, so you can't base everything on the football experience. The most important thing is you're going to have to go out and live a life afterwards. So I want to go somewhere that's going to offer me a good education. I'm especially interested in business, so I'm going to be looking for that in school. Other stuff, obviously how the coaches work with you is important. I'm not necessarily looking at who has the best record or anything like that, but it's nice to know a college is going in the right direction and has big plans for the football team.”
On learning how to punt: “My sophomore year, I started to get into kicking, too, and at first I was a little disheartened because I just was not getting it. Eventually, I started really working at it and it became a passion for me. It just kind of worked out really well and it turned out I had some natural talent on top of just working with some really great coaches.”
ANALYSIS
Scouts, Inc.: “Hagerup is a very competitive and hard working punter/kicker. He has received more Division I offers than any other 2010 kicking prospect.... He has had multiple great performances at Kohl's kicking camp and he can hit punts that have more than a five second hang time. His drop table is low and his leg swing is consistent and straight. Hagerup gets great toe depression on his punts, has proven himself in pressure situations and may also be able to kickoff in college.”
