Drew Henson has been released by the Lions

Quarterback Drew Henson became the odd man out in the Lions’ quarterback shuffle after the team took Matthew Stafford first overall in the NFL draft.
With Stafford, the Lions had four quarterbacks, so they waived Henson, a former star at Brighton High and Michigan. That leaves the team with Stafford, Daunte Culpepper and Drew Stanton. But only Culpepper has started in the NFL, so the team could add a veteran backup through free agency or waivers, as coach Jim Schwartz indicated before the draft.
