On Michigan (5/5/10): “Michigan is my favorite right now, definitely. There are some other schools like Ohio State and Cincinnati that have been staying in touch. I’d like to hear more from Michigan soon. I think I’ll probably end up at Michigan, but those other schools could make a push.”
Sean O’Connell, UMGoBlog.com: “Chris Wormley is one of Ohio’s top prospects for the 2012 class. The first thing that catches your attention is his great size. Chris has a very quick first step for a kid that stands 6’5”. He has a great motor and is a very sure tackler. He’ll of course have to get a little stronger while at college, but he has a world of potential and will be a top target for Michigan and many other programs next recruiting season.”
Greg Biggins, ESPN Rise: “A man-child and one of the most impressive looking sophomores you will ever see. He’s still growing into his body, but has long arms, plays with good pad level and is an above average athlete. He needs to work on his overall explosiveness off the ball but that will come with time. Indiana and Cincinnati have already offered.”
Allen Trieu, Scout.com: “Tremendous size and ability. Likely a strongside end, but could also play inside. Ideal five-tech. Turned it up another notch in terms of motor and consistent effort as a junior. When we saw him as a sophomore, he just overpowered his opposition. Last year, because I think he saw a few top prospects and, he started to turn up the intensity. He’s a naturally massive kid and moves well for that size.”
Scouts Inc., ESPN.com: “Wormley is a good looking defensive end prospect and displays the tools to be a tough defender against the run and pass. He is a kid with good size for a high school prospect with nice height and bulk. His current size may suggest he could out grow the end position and it is possible… He is not a kid that will run by blockers, but displays the ability and arsenal to make blockers pay for making a mistake and should only get better with further development. Wormley is a good end prospect bringing a nice set of tools and displays the ability to contribute early if needed.
