Profile for 2013 U of M Prospect Scott Orndoff

Sean O’Connell, UMGoBlog.com: “With Michigan obviously looking for a third tight end prospect, Orndoff would be a really nice addition. First, he is listed anywhere between 235 and 245 pounds, but he doesn’t quite look that big from the highlights I’ve seen. Scott is quick and athletic enough to line up outside, as well as stay inside where he can block.

QUOTES

On re-opening his recruitment: “I just wanted to be able to take the options I have, the scholarships I have, and make sure that I make the right decision. I’m still considering Wisconsin, and I’ll be visiting for the spring game.”

ANALYSIS

Sean O’Connell, UMGoBlog.com: “With Michigan obviously looking for a third tight end prospect, Orndoff would be a really nice addition. First, he is listed anywhere between 235 and 245 pounds, but he doesn’t quite look that big from the highlights I’ve seen. Scott is quick and athletic enough to line up outside, as well as stay inside where he can block. He runs decent routes, but has fantastic hands. Orndoff actually has some really good speed for the tight end position as well and separates from defenders pretty well. A red-shirt year would help him out a lot, but if he were to commit to Michigan, he might not have that luxury.”

Tremendous, This is Michigan Football: “Scott is a hybrid type of TE, that can be split out and used in a lot of passing situations. His speed and agility is very impressive for a player his size, and he has great hands. Although his blocking is something that might be questioned, he has the size to be productive in the trenches.”

Greg Perry, Seton La-Salle H.S. Head Coach: “I don’t know if we’ve had the caliber we’ll have with this kid. Anyone who uses a tight end in their offense is going to be interested because of his size, speed and strength.”
