On his commitment (3/6/12): “I’ve been feeling like Michigan was the right school for me for two weeks now, and there’s no reason for me to wait any longer. It’s the right time for me to commit, and I’m very excited to be a Wolverine.”

On Committing to Michigan while his dad played for OSU: “No, it won’t feel strange because I know my dad went to Ohio State because that was the best place for him and I know that Michigan is the best place for me and I know both my parents will support me any where that I went.”

GBMWolverine: “McCray is a highly skilled athlete with an outstanding skill set. He shows superior intensity and has a very high motor. Michael is excellent in pursuit and blitzing. He frequently runs down running backs from behind. Michael runs very well and shows excellent acceleration and explosion.”

ESPN Analyst: “McCray is a very good overall football player with the size, athleticism and versatile skill-set to get recruited at both linebacker and tight end. Tall, well-built with good, lean bulk and the frame to add more … Overall, McCray has a great frame and matching athleticism and football smarts. A head of the curve with his diagnosing skill and understanding of the game of football which should allow for a smoother transition to the college level.”
