On receiving an offer from Michigan: “I was happily surprised when I got the offer because it wasn’t necessarily expected. Like I said, I thought my performance could have been better. I was getting ready to leave when (recruiting coordinator) Singletary told me to wait because Coach Hecklinski wanted to talk to me. He told me about what Michigan had to offer overall, offered me a scholarship and told me that he’d love to have me play at Michigan.” – For more, visit Tremendous
Jon Jennings, UMGoBlog: Plays safety for Gateway High School in western Pennsylvania. Nicholson has great size already at 6’3” and 200 pounds. Most players this size translates as a linebacker in the next level. Nicholson, however, has the athletic ability behind that size to continue onto the next level as a big safety prospect. As expected, Nicholson is great against the run and does a nice job keeping contain. As a sophomore, he showed nice awareness and took good angles when big play occurred against his team. Not much film out there of his coverage skills which makes you think he could end up being a linebacker or strong safety at the next level. He’ll have to continue to get stronger in the weight room, however he has already added 15 pounds this summer from his sophomore playing weight of 185.
