Name: Damien Harris
Position: Running Back
Height & Weight: 5’11” 200 lbs.
High School: Berea Madison Southern Eagles (KY)
Jon Jennings, UMGoBlog.com: “Harris came in as a freshman and only averaged 11.9 yards per carry. He is a very physically mature player despite only going into his sophomore year. He has the frame of a Trent Richardson. However, one of this best attributes is his 4.4 speed. Couple his speed and size and you have one very dangerous football player. He is also a very smart player and understands how to set up blocks and read defenses. His balance and vision are also at an elite caliber. He is very dangerous in the passing game showing great hands and is a team player who is a very capable blocker when needed. This is a kid who can become a top 25 player nationally, if not higher. Only concern is being overused at the high school level, similar to what we have seen with players like Kelvin Taylor and Sony Michel, both who have suffered injuries early in their high school careers.”
Allen Trieu, Scout.com: “Harris jumps off the screen with his explosiveness and build for a young back. At 5’11, 195-lbs, he’s beyond his years in the weight room and he already has offers from Wake Forest, Ohio and Illinois. Those three should be joined by many more over the next few years as he appears to be a special talent.”
