QUOTES
On Himself: “I’m quick off the ball and I use my hands well. I get great separation too. I move pretty well and have very good vision. I want to improve my technique and tackle better. I’m also trying to get stronger and more physical.”
ANALYSIS
Sean O’Connell, UMGoBlog.com: “Ryan Van Bergen 2.0? Matt is a little more athletic, but the two are pretty similar. Standing 6’6", Godin has the frame to hold around 290 pounds or so giving him the versatility to play both inside and outside. He uses his hands pretty well and plays with good energy. Like most high schoolers he’ll have to bulk up and work on his technique quite a bit.”
Jack Slice, Forward Thinking: “Godin is a big man with a bigger motor. The first thing that strikes you is his excellent athleticism for his size. It’s rare to see a big man move around like he can…. There is always a caveat, however, that he has a great frame to put on more muscle. He plays the 3-technique in high school, so I’d imagine that that’s where he’d play along UM’s line.”
